ISLAMABAD – Ambassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lakomov here on Wednesday called for enhancing the Pak-Ukraine private sector collaboration in energy, agriculture, metals, transport equipment, chemicals and food processing to enhance bilateral trade.
The ambassador visited Board of Investment (BoI) and met Minister of State and Chairman BoI Dr Miftah Ismail and Secretary, BoI Iftikhar Babar. They discussed and explored the investment as well as trade opportunities available in both the countries for further enhancing bilateral trade. The ambassador emphasised that both the countries should enhance bilateral trade and investment in all spheres like collaboration in the sectors of energy, agriculture and metals.
This sector-specific efforts could also start a new era of trade and economic relations between the two countries. He urged the private sector of Pakistan and Ukraine to come forward and play a crucial role. Both sides could consider exchange of trade delegations, trade fairs and single country exhibitions, which could play a significant role to achieve the desired goals, he remarked.
The Chairman BoI informed that being the apex state agency for investment promotion and provide facilitation to foreign investors may extend a cordial invitation to Ukrainian businessmen and entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities available in all sectors of Pakistan. He assured full support and facilitation for further enhancing the bilateral trade and investment with Ukraine and urged for sharing the upcoming events and exhibitions to BOI for full participation of Board of Investment. The BoI head thanked the ambassador and appreciated his efforts and intention with regard to boost the trade, investment and economic relations between the two countries.
